Carried on eagles’ wings

‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.

Exodus 19:4 · WEB
Today’s word

A new beginning can expose how little strength we have for the road ahead. Israel had left Egypt, but freedom required learning a new identity and a new way of living. At Sinai, God reminded them that their journey began with His deliverance and that He had carried them toward Himself.

Israel’s journey also shows that being delivered from a place does not immediately remove that place from our thinking. In the wilderness they longed for what was familiar, even when the familiar had been bondage. God continued teaching them to trust His provision and live as His people.

We also need the Holy Spirit to renew patterns of thought formed in captivity. Freedom requires more than leaving; it requires learning how to live with God. Remember today what He has already brought you through. Let gratitude strengthen your trust, but remain honest about the thinking that still needs renewal. The God who delivered you has not left you to carry yourself. He is bringing you closer to Himself. His carrying grace remains present today.

I declare

God has brought me out and is drawing me to Himself. I am not sustained by my strength alone; I receive His care, instruction and grace as I learn to live in freedom.

Prayer

Father, thank You for every place from which You have delivered me. Renew the thoughts and responses that were shaped in bondage. When the familiar tries to draw me backward, remind me of Your faithfulness. Teach me to trust Your provision and live as one You have brought near.

Amen.
