Grace has dominion

For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

Romans 6:14 · WEB
Today’s word

A familiar struggle can behave like a ruler whose authority has never been challenged. It issues commands, predicts defeat and expects compliance. Romans announces a change of government: those who belong to Christ are under grace. Sin still speaks, but it no longer possesses the right to rule.

Dominion speaks of rule. Temptation still speaks, but it is not our ruler. A former pattern can still feel familiar, but familiarity does not equal ownership. Because we belong to Christ, we can refuse what once commanded us and present ourselves to God.

Confidence in grace produces alert and willing obedience. We close doors that repeatedly weaken us, respond promptly to conviction and align our choices with the One who now rules our lives. Grace does not make sin harmless; it makes freedom possible and trains us to live differently.

Consider where you have been speaking as though change is impossible. Replace resignation with truth. Sin is not your master. Bring the struggle into God’s light and take the practical step that supports obedience today.

I declare

Sin does not have dominion over me. I am under grace, and I receive power to choose what reflects my life in Christ.

Prayer

Father, thank You that grace, not sin, rules my life. Expose every place where I have accepted defeat as permanent. Give me wisdom to remove what weakens me, humility to receive accountability and strength to obey You today. Let grace train my desires and establish holy obedience in every hidden place.

Amen.
