I will rise
Don’t rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
Micah 7:8 · WEBA fall can make the ground feel like our permanent address. Darkness argues that we have reached the end of the story. Micah answers both with resilient faith. He names the fall and the darkness honestly while placing greater confidence in the God who raises and gives light.
Rising often begins quietly. It can look like telling the truth, returning to prayer, asking for help or completing the next responsibility. We often wait to feel strong before moving, but strength often meets us after we respond.
The enemy uses a fall to argue that freedom was never real. God uses repentance and grace to deepen dependence upon Him. A stumble can become a place of instruction when we let God show us what weakened our footing and how to walk more wisely.
Do not make a permanent home in a temporary low place. Let God be your light there, then rise in the strength He supplies. You are not required to recover everything in one day. You are invited to take the next true step.
Though I fall, I will rise. The Lord is my light, and I take the next faithful step in the strength He provides.
Father, meet me where I have fallen or lost heart. Expose every lie that says I cannot rise again. Be my light, teach me through what happened and give me strength for the next true step. I receive Your grace to stand and continue with You.
Amen.
