iShineWord for the Day
Thursday, 24 September

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 · WEB
Today’s word

Ecclesiastes reminds us of both God’s work and the limits of our understanding. We long to see the whole picture, yet we cannot trace everything He does from beginning to end. That tension invites humility as we consider the timing of our lives.

We may have imagined that certain things would happen by a particular age or in a particular order. When reality differs, disappointment can become fear that we have missed our purpose. We begin to measure ourselves against a calendar God has not asked us to use.

This verse is not a guarantee that every desired outcome will arrive later. We can grieve what has not happened while trusting that God remains present and wise. His purpose is not limited to fulfilling the sequence we pictured, and our lives can reflect His goodness within circumstances we did not choose.

Today, release the demand to understand the entire story. Ask for wisdom to recognize present responsibility and grace to surrender what cannot be controlled. Make the practical decisions that are needed without allowing comparison to govern them. Your next faithful response matters, even when the larger timing remains beyond your understanding.

I declare

I surrender my expectations and timelines to God’s wisdom. Comparison will not determine the value or direction of my life. I receive grace to grieve honestly, live faithfully and respond to the opportunities before me without demanding to understand the whole story.

Prayer

Father, You know the expectations I have carried about this season. Comfort me where those hopes have become grief, and quiet the fear of falling behind. Give me wisdom for present decisions and grace to release what I cannot control. Keep my heart faithful while the larger picture remains unclear.

Amen.
