Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 · WEB
Today’s word

Joshua’s call to courage was joined to the assurance of God’s presence. He was not being asked to rely on personal confidence alone. His responsibility was to follow the Lord faithfully as he carried the assignment entrusted to him.

We can feel afraid and still choose obedience. Courage does not require us to deny the emotion or pretend a difficult step is easy. It grows as we bring our fears before God and allow His truth to have greater authority than the possibilities we have rehearsed.

Not every frightening action is a faithful one. We need wisdom to distinguish obedience from unnecessary risk, and humility to receive counsel where our judgment is limited. God’s presence is not permission to disregard preparation or the care of others.

Today, name the fear attached to a responsibility you need to face. Ask Him to show you the next wise and faithful step. Receive support, make appropriate preparation and refuse to let fear alone settle the decision. You do not have to wait for every feeling to change before responding to what God has made clear. His grace can sustain your obedience within the fear.

I declare

I receive strength and courage to follow God faithfully. Fear will not rule my response to clear obedience. I walk with wisdom, welcome support and depend on His presence and grace as I carry the responsibility before me.

Prayer

Father, I bring You the fear attached to this next step. Help me discern what obedience requires and prepare with wisdom. I receive the courage to respond without denying my need for support. Let Your truth steady my heart, and keep fear from becoming the final authority over my decision.

Amen.
