As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spread abroad his wings, he took them, he bore them on his feathers.

Deuteronomy 32:11 · WEB
Today’s word

The song in Deuteronomy uses the image of an eagle caring for its young to describe God’s attentive care for His people. The emphasis directs us toward the One who guided and sustained them, rather than toward their ability to carry themselves.

Change can make us aware of how much we depended on familiar surroundings. A responsibility ends, a routine shifts or a new demand exposes our need for help. We may feel unsettled before we can recognize what a faithful response should look like.

We do not have to claim that God caused every disruption to trust Him within it. Nor do we need to turn the eagle image into a detailed account of how He must train us. Scripture invites us to remember His care and depend on Him through the circumstances before us.

Today, bring the unsettling change to the Father honestly. Ask for wisdom, receive support and remain attentive to what He is teaching you. Growth does not lead us beyond dependence on Him. As new strength develops, our trust can deepen too. The aim is not to reach a place where we no longer need His sustaining care, but to follow Him more faithfully within it.

I declare

I trust God’s sustaining care through change and uncertainty. I receive wisdom to respond faithfully and humility to welcome help. As I grow, my dependence on Him deepens, and I remain attentive to His leadership.

Prayer

Father, You know how this change has unsettled me. Sustain me where I feel vulnerable and help me recognize the support You have placed around me. I receive wisdom for the responsibilities ahead and grace to learn without pretending to be strong. Help me to deepen my dependence on You rather than move me away from it.

Amen.
