Where the Spirit is

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17 · WEB
Today’s word

Freedom can feel fragile when the pressure of an old pattern returns. We can respond by tightening our discipline, increasing our effort and trying to hold ourselves together. Yet lasting freedom begins with dependence, not self-reliance. Paul directs our attention to the Holy Spirit, the One who makes the freedom Christ secured real in our daily lives.

His work reaches beneath behavior. He reveals truth, exposes what still controls us and gives us power to respond differently. We cooperate with Him through obedience, but we never become our own deliverer. The same Spirit who shows us where change is needed also supplies the grace to change.

As this month begins, consider where you have been trying to maintain freedom through effort alone. Bring that area honestly before God. Freedom does not mean we will never face temptation, pressure or memories of the past. It means these things no longer have the authority to rule us. Remain close to the Holy Spirit, receive His truth and follow His leading one decision at a time.

I declare

I live in the freedom Christ has secured for me. The Holy Spirit is at work within me, and I receive grace to walk in truth, obedience and liberty each day.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the freedom I have in Christ. Holy Spirit, reveal every place where I have depended on my own strength instead of Your power. Lead me in truth, renew my mind and help me respond in obedience. I receive grace to live daily in the liberty Your presence brings.

Amen.
