Kept from falling
Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
Jude 1:24–25 · WEBFear of failure can keep us watching ourselves more closely than we watch God. Jude redirects that anxious attention toward the One who is able to preserve us and bring us into His presence with great joy. The emphasis is not our instability but God’s ability, glory, majesty and authority.
This does not make our choices unimportant. We remain watchful, receive correction and turn away from what draws us back into bondage. Yet vigilance is not the same as fear. We do not have to spend each day expecting our worst moment to become our future.
Jude’s praise rises because God’s keeping work has a destination: we are presented before His glory without blemish and with great joy. Freedom is not merely avoiding failure; it is being formed for the presence of God. His joy, not our anxiety, frames the future He is preparing.
Lift your attention from constant self-examination and worship the God who keeps you. Respond to conviction promptly, but refuse fear as your guardian. God’s wisdom establishes your steps, His grace strengthens your obedience and His joy awaits you in His presence.
God is able to keep me and restore me. I do not live in fear of falling; I remain watchful, responsive and dependent upon His grace.
Father, thank You for Your keeping power. When I feel unsteady, draw my attention back to Your faithfulness. Give me humility to receive correction, courage to repent quickly and grace to rise again. Keep my heart responsive to You and lead me forward in obedience.
Amen.
